JACKSONVILLE, FL (February 24, 2018) - The Jacksonville Urban League's (JUL) 70th Anniversary Gala was a huge success.  The black-tie event was held February 24, 2018 at the Jacksonville Public Main Library with more than 300 in attendance.  The event included volunteers, supporters, elected officials and other dignitaries.  The festive atmosphere was the perfect environment for the presentation of the JUL Equal Opportunity Awards (EOA) and the celebration for 70 years of service to the Jacksonville community.

Dr. Richard Danford, Jr., CEO and President of the Jacksonville Urban League, presented the JUL's 2018 EOA's to five deserving recipients.  EOA recipients have demonstrated a commitment to the Jacksonville community through the spirit of Urban League icons Whitney M. Young and Clanzel T. Brown as well as a new category, the Women of Power Award.  The JUL believes this award is necessary and relevant during these times.  Each recipient exemplifies the power it takes to move our community forward. Click here to view award recipients.
