FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kings Road - Myrtle Avenue Vision Casting Kickoff

Jacksonville, Florida (February 19, 2019).  On Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 2 p.m., the Jacksonville Urban League and a host of community partners will proudly kickoff the Kings Road-Myrtle Avenue Initiative Vision Casting at the Kings Road and Myrtle Avenue intersection (1289 Kings Road Jacksonville, FL  32204).

The goal of Kings Road-Myrtle Avenue Initiative includes the following:
1. Leverage public and private resources that help connect people and communities with economic, work, health and crime prevention strategies, and technological resources and services.

2. Recognize the service, courage and patriotism of African American Veterans through the construction of the Community and Veterans Empowerment Center.

3. Lead in making the Kings Road and Myrtle Avenue corridor, including Edward Waters College, an economic empowerment hub and vibrant neighborhood through further redevelopment and job creation.

4. Assemble a dynamic and results driven collaborative partnership with stakeholders to help plan and guide activities.
The Jacksonville community is invited to participate in establishing the foundation for Kings Road-Myrtle Avenue Initiative that will ultimately lead to solutions facing many underserved communities who suffer because of the deep-rooted problems connected to a lack of access to resources and individual prosperity.
